WHY ARE THIS PLACES IMPORTANT?

The Opera House: It is the setting for the novel The Phantom of the Opera and also for the film adaptations of the novel, it was one of the few buildings built in the Second Empire, and the most expensive

The Effiel Tower: served as a presentation at the Paris universal exhibition  in 1889, Its exceptional size and immediately recognizable silhouette made the tower an emblem of Paris.

The Sacre Coeur: Is one of the biggest bells of the world

Notre Dame: Is the most famous Gothic cathedrals of the Middle Edge.

The Pantheon: is one of the best-preserved monuments of ancient Rome.

Arc de Triomphe: represents the victories of the French army under the command of Napoleon.

Les Invalides: is an imposing French architectural complex of the seventeenth century (1671-1676)

Museé de Cluny: it is the National Museum of the Middle Ages.

Place République: contains a monument that includes a statue of the personification of France, Marianne.

Cementery Père Lachaise:  is the largest cemetery in Paris within the walls and one of the most famous in the world and is buried many famous people.

1. Who ordered the construction of the Opera?

Napoleo III ordered the construction of the Opera. 

2. What are its various architectural styles?

Includes Renaissance, Classical style and Baroque.

Was put there so that the emperor could drive directlyinto the main hall of the

opera.

4. Why was the completion of the Opera delayed?

It was delayed because  in 1870 there was a war and in 1873 a fire.

The Opera was designed by Charles Garnier and Baron Haussmanna

It was created to make the foundation of the building safe.
